A newly established Family Office is looking for C-Suite staffs and they are now looking for an experienced General Counsel to join their team. This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join a

The role of the General Counsel is a senior leadership role reporting to the Head of the Family Office and will be responsible for providing legal counsel and oversight to a family office. This
includes fiduciary responsibilities such as serving as a company director or trustee and coordinating key governance activities.
Wealth Structuring & Estate Planning
- Develop robust and implement strategies for asset protection, tax optimization, and succession planning in collaboration with external partners and stakeholders.
- Assisting the family in developing and implementing comprehensive estate plans, including wills, trusts, and other strategies to preserve and transfer wealth to future generations while
minimizing tax liabilities.
Legal Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensuring that the family office operates in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including tax laws, securities laws, estate planning laws, and more.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating legal and regulatory risks that could impact the family's wealth and assets. This involves conducting risk assessments and developing strategies to
protect the family's interests.
- Ensuring that the family office provides accurate and timely reporting to regulatory authorities and complies with tax obligations.
Contract Review and Negotiation
- Reviewing and negotiating contracts on behalf of the family office, including agreements related to investments, real estate transactions, and business ventures.
Real Estate Matters
- Handling legal aspects of real estate assets and transactions, including property acquisitions, leasing agreements, and property management.
Family Governance
- Developing and implementing governance structures and policies to facilitate communication and decision-making within the family, especially in multi-generational family offices.
Litigation Management (if applicable)
- If legal disputes arise, overseeing the family office's involvement in litigation, including hiring and managing external legal counsel when necessary.
Privacy and Confidentiality
- Safeguarding the privacy and confidentiality of the family's financial and personal information.
Governance & Oversight:
- Serve as a company director for various entities and as a trustee for family trusts.
- Act as a fiduciary to safeguard the family’s assets and interests, adhering to the highest standards of governance.
- Ensure fiduciary decisions align with the family’s objectives and legal requirements.
Entity & Trust Administration
- Oversee the administration of multiple entities, trusts, and asset-holding structures, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with finance, tax, and estate planning professionals to maintain optimal governance.
Meeting Coordination & Documentation:
- Coordinate and manage board meetings, trustee meetings, and investment committee meetings.
- Prepare and distribute board packs, meeting agendas, and supporting documents.
- Record and maintain minutes of meetings, tracking follow-ups and action items.
Relationship Management:
- Maintain relationships with financial institutions, investment managers, and real estate partners, law firms and other professional advisors.
- Serve as the point of contact for family members regarding legal and fiduciary matters.
Remuneration will be commensurate with the duties and demands of the role and the experience of the candidate.
