Our client is requiring a House Manager to work at a large residence in St Andrews, Scotland. 


The family are very formal so are looking for experienced staff who have worked in similar environments before.


The house will be a full-time residence for the daughter who will be attending University there.  The rest of the family (mother, father & brother) will be staying intermittently, as well as other family members too.


As this is a new residence, it is a great opportunity for an experienced House Manager who is looking for a challenge.  You will be managing a large team of staff, creating structures and procedures, and coordinating with the home office to ensure the smooth running of the property.


Duties of the House Manager include:

  • Staff Management

  • Liaising with the home office

  • Creating a handbook for the household

  • Maintaining standards and dealing with any issues that may arise

  • Training of staff

  • Creating rotas

  • House admin and financing

  • Organising contractors

  • Taking care of security arrangements of the property.

The ideal candidate would have 3 years' similar experience in a private residence; experienced in silver service; preferably fluent in oral and written English; and also be a confident driver.


Accommodation can be provided in a lovely cottage just off the Estate.


A very competitive salary is on offer depending on experience. Uniform will also be provided by the client.

To start in August.
