An exceptional House Manager / Cook is sought for a Private Client at their residence in Roehampton / Richmond. 

 

The ideal candidate needs to have previous experience in managing and running large, private households and will be the first point of contact for the Principals to ensure that the property runs on oiled wheels, with high standards maintained at all times.  We are looking for professional, discrete and dedicated candidates – someone who is extremely organised with a practical and solution driven approach who can lead by example.  The ideal candidate will be unflappable and able to deal well with changes at short notice.  It is fundamental that you have proficient chefing skills and are able to cater for adults, children and for small parties as and when required.  The estate is currently completing renovation works and parts of the estate are to be made available commercially for events etc – in most cases these will be managed by dedicated / external teams but with your support.

The position requires some flexibility in terms of working hours/days – this is a 5 day working week but days off will not necessarily be over the weekend or consecutive.

 

Hours: 8am – 6pm, 5 days per week

Salary: DOE

Start Date: ASAP          

Special notes: Live-in from Jan 2018 onwards (private house on the estate)

 

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner for the Principals, family and guests when in residence
  • Attending to guests
  • Organising and supervising contractors and maintenance visits
  • Ensuring immaculate records and up to date inventories
  • Managing and overseeing 2 Housekeepers and 1 Assistant
  • Maintaining high standards at all times throughout the property
  • Careful maintenance of art and antiques
  • Purchasing items for the house and producing expense reports for review
  • Operating high end technology and ensuring it is correctly maintained eg. AV controls and other home automation systems.
  • Managing, training and supervising 2 Housekeepers and 1 Assistant, organising rotas, recording leave and absences

 

Candidates must be / have:

  • Prior experience working in high-end households
  • Flexible with hours to allow for catering at dinner parties
  • Strong cooking skills, with healthy and varied menus, able to cater for children and adults
  • IT literate
  • Extremely organised and highly motivated
