Our private client is looking to recruit a permanent full time handy man for a live-out position based in Egham.
The purpose of the role will be to work with the M&E supervisor and other staff on a private estate to maintain service delivery and quality of service as families requirements on 8-5 basis covering Tuesday to Saturday.
You will be responsible for light Handyman/ care-taking duties either on the Estate, or elsewhere as required under the supervision and/or request of the Estate Engineer, Client, Estate Manager, Head Gardener.
To undertake specific PPM jobs as issued by Chief engineer.
Support for the resident team during normal working hours and outside of normal working hours as occasionally maybe required.
The role will require you to carry out minor electrical and plumbing duties which includes internal and external lighting checks and re-lamping, resetting electrical circuit breakers, repairing leaking taps unblocking drains.
To undertake reactive duties when required and instructed.
The Resident Technician will carry out daily/ weekly building survey's and checks.
To maintain a consistent level of quality in all duties and be proactive regarding works.
The Resident engineer will be computer literate and able to use the site FM system and be comfortable operating technology as the estate runs a high level of self automation.
Patrol the house every morning and check all ext lights are working- check for any other faults. Confirm with the service and/or house-keeping team if any internal light bulbs need changing or have found any faults.
You may be required to wash, maintain, fuel the Estate vehicles, Clients personal cars and bikes including the kids cars and bicycles.
You may be required to escort and supervise any contractors that come to the estate.
Take responsibility at weekends of outside contractors ad chasing up of any visits requested or required.
You will be required to do errands off the estate for the Estate team and/or guests.
Responsible for any pool maintenance and reporting any issues found with the pools to the
Estate Director/ Estate Engineer
Ensure both the interior and exterior pools are at the correct temperature.
Reporting any issues found or unresolved faults either in the house or on the property to the Estate
Manager / Estate Engineer
Ensure Gas heaters and BBQ gas bottles area always ready -check gas bottles after
Assisting with the unloading and loading luggage/deliveries as required
Maintain a log of all issues found and or reported
Weekly/monthly clean of interior shower/bath/sink drains
You will be required to carry out any training felt necessary for you to better fulfil your work duties.
High standard of painting and skills
Base electrical skills
Base plumbing skills
Base wood working skills
No qualifications required but would be considered an asset.
Good reasoning and problem solving.
Full drivers licence with no more then 6 points.
Base understanding of technology (will be taught specifics by lead engineer)
Computer operation skills (outlook , word , excel)
We are looking for a self motivated person who will get on with both the estate team and client who is extremely hands on meaning all applicants must be confidant with good communications skills as the client can be fast paced at time so any applicant must be able keep up .
