FAMILY ASSISTANT / HOUSE MANAGER

Our UHNW clients, based in Hampstead, are seeking a Live-in Family Assistant with House Manager duties.
This Tuesday – Saturday role requires flexibility and a proactive approach and would be the perfect stepping stone into a House Manager role.
Housekeeping & Estate Maintenance:
- Maintain and present all rooms and communal areas to a high standard
- Full laundry and wardrobe care, including dry-cleaning and occasional hand-washing
- Assist with packing and unpacking for travel
- Manage household supplies through stock control and purchasing
- Coordinate scheduled deep cleans when the family is away
- Book and liaise with external service providers (eg, window cleaners, upholstery specialists)
- Carry out ad-hoc estate tasks, including outdoor cleaning and maintenance
Childcare Support:
- Provide twice-weekly school drop-offs and pick-ups
- Deliver Saturday childcare, including transporting to horse-riding lessons
- Offer homework support in the absence of the Nanny
- Liaise with the children’s schools and attend appointments (medical, extracurricular)
- Provide transportation to various activities, including short- and long-distance trips
Household Management:
- Support the Chef during dinner parties (6+ guests); oversee table setup and clear down
- Assist with recruiting and training new household staff
- Manage household correspondence, including post sorting, returns, and procurement
- Develop and supervise staff rotas; manage annual leave requests and tracking
- Organise bookings for restaurants, cinema/theatre, hair appointments, medical visits, etc
- Maintain and coordinate the family diary, ensuring all staff are informed
- Oversee operations at the Norfolk property: coordinate with onsite staff and the Property Manager
- Travel to Norfolk 3–4 times per year to prepare the property ahead of visits and close it down afterward
- Process and pay household invoices in a timely manner
Candidate requirements:
- Prior experience in a similar live-in role within a high-end private household
- Impeccable attention to detail and organisational skills
- Driver essential
- Previous Nanny / childcare experience
- Trustworthy, discreet, and professional at all times
- Preferably fluent in English
- Valid right to work in the UK and DBS check required
Working days: Tuesday - Saturday
Accommodation: Live-in double ensuite bedroom, with separate kitchenette
Hours: Flexible dependent on daily duties / schedule
