Our Client seeks a highly professional and experienced Domestic Couple for their residence in Perthshire.

 

The Domestic Couple will consist of a housekeeper with very high standards and attention to detail, the other all-rounder person must be sufficiently flexible and capable to manage the required outdoor activities and other tasks allocated.

 

Certain duties and working hours will vary with season, being longer in summer months and when Principals are in residence. Some weekend working will be required at the request of the Principals. Candidates must be willing to perform duties and travel between the country and city residences. Must have good time management and be capable of working unsupervised. A key requirement is that they form a good working relationship with the Principals’ Executive Assistant, who will be their immediate manager.

 

Both candidates require a flexible, can-do approach with a positive attitude.

 

Both should be physically fit, energetic individuals of pleasant nature, respectful and discreet with a genuine enthusiasm for the role. Both should be well presented.

 

It is important that they can form a good working relationship with other contractors working in/around the Principals’ properties.

 

Must preferably have excellent English, be non-smokers, hold full clean driving licences, and be confident with large breed dogs.

 

Regret, role and housing is not suitable for live in dependants or pets.

 

Housekeeper activities including:

 

  • Laundry
  • Ironing
  • Hoovering
  • Dusting
  • Flower arrangements
  • Experienced in cleaning antiques
  • Receive mail parcels
  • Deep clean activities
  • Simple cooking and baking (eg soups, casseroles, sponge cakes, scones, pancakes etc)
  • Preparing/serving light lunch and/or afternoon tea to Principals and visitors
  • Occasional informal cooking for the Principals and visitors
  • Assist with larger dinner parties and other events occasionally
  • Answering the door and welcoming guests
  • Able to drive estate car from the country residence to the city to cover weekly housekeeping duties there

All Rounder activities including:

 

  • Guardianship and security of the residence when Principals are away
  • Organise and oversee specific regular and ad-hoc maintenance contractors, eg boiler engineers, roof inspections, pest control, aga maintenance, chimney sweeps etc
  • Good level of gardening knowledge and skills. This work is seasonal and will evolve as grounds are developed. Be able to work alongside and follow direction of gardening professionals
  • Good level of estate knowledge and skills – including driving small estate machinery and basic maintenance
  • Able to drive estate car as directed (eg to deliver Principals or their dogs between properties/to appointments etc)
  • Car valeting or arranging valeting
  • Dog care in absence of Principals (from between one to seven days) as required.

 

Accommodation: Separate 2 bedroom flat, with own private garden. Utilities covered by the Principals.

 

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm, with occasional weekend working (dependent on season & dog care requirements)

 

Salary: circa £55,000 Gross, + benefits (pension contribution)

 

Start Date: Early Autumn
