A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Caretaker/Head Housekeeper Couple to oversee a property in Cap d'Antibes.


The Caretaker will be responsible for maintenance of the property and grounds, whilst the Head Housekeeper/Manager will be responsible for the upkeep of the house interior.


Roles and Responsibilities:

Caretaker Role: A good handyman, the Caretaker will be responsible for the maintenance of the house, pool and gardens. When deemed necessary, maintenance issues/problems may be outsourced and the Caretaker will be knowledgable in sourcing contractors and negotiating their fees. Maintenance matters will include plumbing, heating, renovations, AC, construction, repairs, renovations, security and alarm systems etc. Responsible for driving the family and their children. Responsible for the maintenance of the cars. Expected to carry out some grocery shopping and run errands as needed


Head Housekeeper/Manager Role: Ensuring the house is maintained to an impeccable standard year-round. Conducting detailed and deep cleaning, with a knowledge of organic products. Stocking of kitchen/pantry and bathroom essentials. Thorough daily organising of the house, "everything has its place", there is no clutter. Candidates will have an impeccable eye for detail and know how to care for fragile materials. Responsible for laundry, ironing, organising closets and wardrobe, packing and unpacking. Coordinating flower deliveries and arrangements. Grocery shopping and light cooking. Running errands as needed. Listing, documenting and upkeeping valuables


Other requirements: Must have excellent written and spoken English and French. Communicating well with the Caretaker, the Estate Manager and Principals. Candidates will have ideally worked in households with young children before. Candidates will be able to write out daily reports, documenting with before/after photos. Quickly identifying and using initiative to immediately rectify any issues to fix within the house. Overseeing servicemen and/or workers in the house. Maintaining discretion and being mindful of the family's privacy. Table setting, service and clearing of the table. Hosting family guests when/if family is not in residence. Showing willingness to act as a team player with a pleasant demeanour. The house should be occupied about six months a year, yet will be prepped, cleaned and organised out of season.


The couple will have excellent written and spoken English and French and will be knowledgable of, and familiar with, the South of France. Trustworthiness, accountability and reliability are paramount to the eligibility of candidates. Salary 2 x 2,000 Euros net/mth approx. Start ASAP.
