Location - LONDON and CANADA


Our client in Mayfair is requiring a Travelling Head Butler to work between their properties in London and Canada.


Every year the client spends between 4-9 weeks in Canada so the majority of the time you would be London based.


There would be quite a bit of downtime from mid-November to February when they are away and won't require the Butler to travel abroad.


Duties expected of the Butler are as follows:

  • Report to the House Manager

  • Manage Housekeepers and House Butler

  • Oversee the wine cellar and inventory

  • Care for the Principal’s wardrobe when required

  • Oversee the care of clothing

  • Responsible for care and presentation of wines in line with the Principal’s requests

  • Assists with managing social diaries

  • Liaises with external organisations for event management

  • Liaises with Gardeners to ensure garden areas are always immaculate

  • Creates weekly staff schedules

  • Creates weekly staff task lists

  • Daily walk of the house to ensure all areas are in line with standards

  • Reports any faults or anomalies to the House Manager

  • Ensures the housekeeping department is fully stocked

  • Ensures all FOH equipment is operational

  • Ensures home automation system is operational including testing IT equipment

  • Manages the room to room cleaning and ensures each room has template and associated inventory

  • Ensures contractors are escorted whilst working in FOH areas

  • Ensures terraces are set up for use by the Principals for dining etc

  • Liaises with the Principals for FOH events and assists where required

  • Updates the Principals on FOH issues each week

  • Manages FOH projects and creates project planners and manages timelines

  • Manages FOH inventory

  • Ensures Housekeepers are working to an effective shift system in line with the Principal's daily lives

  • Responsible for FOH purchases in line with approval

  • Liaises with the Head Housekeeper and Chauffeur to ensure daily grocery lists are complete

A great salary is on offer of around £50,000-£65,000 depending on experience.
