An exciting opportunity has become available within a Single-Family Office who are looking for an Investment Analyst to join their team in Hamburg, Germany.

 

This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of investment topics in a dynamic and evolving environment, with room to shape and improve existing frameworks.

 

Within this role, you will be supporting the Head of Portfolio Management by creating, implementing, and supporting quantitative models for portfolio construction, portfolio planning and risk management of both potential and existing investments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Portfolio Modeling & Data Analytics – Assist in developing and refining portfolio models and analytical tools for asset allocation, commitment pacing, risk analysis and liquidity planning. Gather and analyze quantitative data supporting investment decision-making
  • Conduct Investment Research & Analysis – Perform research and analysis on portfolio construction, benchmarking, and risk assessment to optimize investment strategies, challenge assumptions, and propose data-driven improvements
  • Deliver Insights & Reports – Develop clear, data-driven reports and visual insights for the Investment Committee and senior stakeholders
  • Innovation & Process Improvement – Support the adoption of new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance portfolio analysis and investment research

 

Skillset and Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in investment analysis, asset allocation, private equity, portfolio analytics, or financial consulting
  • Academic background in Finance/ Business Administration or a quantitative subject, such as Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, portfolio analysis, and risk management. Strong quantitative skills and experience with Excel; VBA, @Risk, and programming languages such as Python or R is beneficial
  • Analytical Mindset: A proactive mindset with a strong motivation to delve into data, challenge existing assumptions, and contribute to the development of investment strategies
  • Investment Knowledge: Familiarity with financial instruments in public and private asset classes or financial economic theories is beneficial. Experience with MSCI Total Plan (Burgiss/Caissa) or Bloomberg is advantageous

 

Remuneration will be commensurate with the duties and demands of the role and the experience of the candidate.
