Equities Portfolio Manager (Maternity Cover), Single Family Office

We are looking to recruit a Portfolio Manager for a large single family office based in London. The successful applicant will report to the Chief Investment Officer.

The family office engages in a variety of investment activities, from management of bond and public equity portfolios to private equity funds, direct investments, other alternative investments and property.

This is an exceptionally stable Family Office and personal/cultural “fit” is as important as technical skill set and experience.

Skill Set/ Duties

• Management of half of the public equity portfolio which is split by sector and geography but will include at the moment China, technology, consumer staples and discretionary, Industrials, media and telecom.
• Provide input or prepare weekly/ quarterly commentary on the public equity markets by sector and geography, and makes recommendations as required. These include:
  • Quarterly valuations
  • Weekly equity report on the consolidated portfolio movement for the week and market comments
  • Weekly IPO report with recommendations on strategy
• Liaise with, and direct, segregated account managers

Initial focus will be on Public Equity management experience with a view to taking responsibility for a significant part of the total portfolio.

The role will also include coverage of Segregated Account Managers, being responsible for the relationships with third parties, oversight, etc.

Whilst the focus is on the Public Equity part of the portfolio, there may be some marginal exposure to alternative asset classes as well, assisting where needed on Private Equity funds and interests, both existing and under consideration.
