Our client is a Single-Family Office based in Somerset whose business was founded by a highly successful entrepreneur who retains a significant stake in the major listed business that he co-founded as well as having a diversified portfolio of quoted and private investments. The team manage his investments, personal affairs and those of his family, who are also enjoying very successful and high-profile careers.

 

They are looking to hire for a CFO who will have full responsibility for the management of the finance team, the investments team and will work alongside the founder and his executive team providing counsel on financial aspects. The opportunity should appeal to a highly commercial, well-rounded individual, who has experience in working in a family office/UHNW environment and ideally with high growth start-up's and SME’s. They will also have a deep expertise in the finance function, particularly in the areas of personal and corporate taxation. You should feel equally comfortable working on high-level strategic issues and rolling your sleeves up and diving into the detail where required.

 

Responsibilities;

  • Ongoing financial due diligence and business strategy input to portfolio companies
  • Oversight of the family office; managing the finance and investment teams, establishing and managing governance, compliance and corporate secretariat
  • Ensuring robust management of investments at all times, providing advice to the founder, the investment team and also operational support to portfolio businesses
  • Managing the entrepreneur’s affairs and those of his family in primarily in the sports arena (motor sport and equine)
  • You will be advising on personal and business tax seeking to find efficient approaches to ownership and management of the portfolio, always ensuring tax compliance
  • Maintain up to date and global knowledge of financial products, tax legislation, economics, markets and risk

 

Attributes and Experience;

  • Experienced finance leader who has further qualified and practiced in the area of personal and corporate tax - ATT or CTA Qualified
  • Strong track record of Tax CPD and high level of current legislation knowledge
  • Is a strategic thinker, thinking about future scenarios and opportunities, whilst also having a practical, can-do attitude
  • Detail conscious and conscientious, passionate about providing a high level of value to the business
  • Be prepared to challenge the status quo and give feedback in a supportive manner
  • Is mindful of their impact on the wider team and their responsibility to create and maintain a productive, engaging and high-performance culture

 

Salary: £120K - £200k (Depending on experience)
