Evolve, headquartered in San Rafael, CA, is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper.


Evolve aims is to reduce inner suffering and facilitate inner transformation at scale through its two symbiotic divisions, Evolve Ventures and Evolve Foundation. Some of the current partners include Insight Timer (the world’s largest online meditation community), Parent Lab (mobile app for conscious parenting), Edovo (telecommunications and education solutions for prison inmates helping them unlock their potential), MeetMindful (consciousness-oriented dating platform) and Cognitive Leap Solutions (tech company focused on improving brain health).




Under the supervision of the Managing Director and the Controller, the Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper will be responsible for the following tasks:


Recording financial transactions, maintaining financial records, fact checking financial data and updating financial statements for various entities of Evolve. That will include:

  • Maintaining general ledgers on QuickBooks, Excel and other accounting solutions, used for tracking investments of holding companies, including:

    • Reconciling monthly brokerage, bank and credit card accounts;

    • Tracking various investments;

    • Generating periodic and ad-hoc financial reports (e.g. balance sheets, income statements, investment performance reports, etc.);

    • Supporting transition of Evolve financial data from Financial Navigator to a new accounting solution.

  • Reviewing invoices, processing payments and maintaining related files.

  • Coordinating preparation of annual tax returns, California eWaste recycle fee returns and California sale and use tax returns and acting as primary contact for external tax accountant.

  • Coordinating processing of payroll with external payroll service provider.

  • Maintaining and updating related files; Documenting and updating related bookkeeping and accounting policies and procedures.

  • Additional training as required by functions of the job.

  • Performing other relevant functions as required.



  • Located in the San Francisco Bay area;

  • At least 5 years of experience in bookkeeping;

  • Experience with recording investments and financial accounting a plus;

  • Very proficient with technology, including, QuickBooks, Word and Excel;

  • Experience with other accounting solutions used by family offices is a plus;

  • A high level of respect and discretion for confidential information;

  • Meticulous and detail-oriented;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;

  • Excellent organizational skills; deadline oriented with an ability to prioritize work and handle multiple projects and stakeholders;

  • Able to adapt to quickly changing requirements and priorities; flexible in taking on routine tasks as well as exhibiting leadership in more complex projects;

  • Willing to grow professionally and acquire new skills;

  • Passionate about personal development and the company’s overall mission;

  • Formal education in accounting is a plus.
